This is a 1987 '59 Gibson Les Paul Pre-Historic. Before Gibson started the Historic reissues in '94 they released a very rare and short run of pre-historics. They have all the '59 appointments to a tee. The 'b' and 'o' are split in the Gibson logo, single ring Klusons, thin wafer tone switch ring. It has the inked serial number, the only difference is instead of it starting with 9***, it starts with 7*** to verify the year it was made. It has the carved maple top with the slightest flame {like the Jimmy Page}and nicely faded sunburst. The nickel p/up covers, bridge and tailpiece have aged nicely. It weighs in at 8.5 lbs and it SCREAMS!! I have played a real '59 and this beauty does compare. No trades. It is still available. I have lowered the price to a Buy It Now price $3300,Price Reduced.
